Change IP for a profile or a pool proxy
How Change IP gets a profile a new exit, when it refuses, and what its messages mean.
Error codes: proxy.pool_rotating_only, proxy.change_ip_rotating, proxy.change_ip_no_candidate, proxy.change_ip_failed
Change IP is on each profile row in Profiles and on pool proxies in Proxies. It picks one of three ways to give the profile a new exit.
- Rotation link: the profile's pool proxy has a change-IP URL from its provider. Browz calls that link once and checks the proxy again. Every profile on that proxy gets the new IP, and the result names them.
- New session: the pool proxy came from a provider account as a sticky session. Browz makes a new session for the same account, protocol, targeting and lifetime.
- Swap: any other proxy. Browz moves the profile to an unused pool proxy of the same protocol, vendor and type, in the same country, and inside the assignment policy that put it there, if any.
The new proxy is checked before anything is saved. It must be reachable and come out in the profile's country, unless you allow a country change, and a new session must really have a different exit IP. If no candidate passes, the profile is not changed.
- stop the running profile(s) first: a running profile keeps its old exit, so stop every profile on that proxy, then try again.
- this is a rotating gateway entry, or this proxy is sold as rotating: its exit already changes by itself. Give the profile a sticky session, or add the provider's change-IP URL to the proxy in Proxies.
- no unused pool proxy matches this profile's protocol: add a matching proxy to the pool, add the provider's change-IP URL to the current proxy, or assign another proxy.
- the provider handed back the same exit IP, or no new session passed the exit check: try again later, or use another proxy.
- proxy auto-assignment found only ROTATING proxies in the pool: add static or sticky proxies, choose a proxy yourself, or allow rotating proxies for auto-assignment in Settings, Network and proxies.
A change-IP URL is stored sealed like a password and is never shown again. A rotation link cannot be undone; if the exit moves country, Refuse if the exit country changed still applies at the next launch.
